Rochester, N.Y. -- The Golisano Foundation announced Tuesday that is has received a $10.2 million gift from its founder, Tom Golisano.

This gift is the largest he has made since the $14 million donation to Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center in 2002.

The Golisano Foundation supports programs and services for people with developmental disabilities. It formed in 1985.

In a statement Monday, Golisano Foundation Director Ann Costello said, “This gift publicly renews Tom’s commitment to a cause that is very close to his heart —making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.”

“This is a forward-looking investment that is going to help create a pathway of new services leading to the kind of future in which we all so dearly want to believe,” said Dan Meyers, president of the Al Sigl Community of Agencies.
