Last Update: 11/06 3:20 pm

Gates, N.Y. -- A husband and wife have been arrested for allegedly stealing a woman’s car and threatening her at gunpoint, and police say they may be involved in other similar incidents.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says that on October 17 at 1:30 a.m., Michael J. Friedler, 46, and Tammy Friedler, 43, of Gates, approached a woman sitting in her car on
Five Mile Line Road in Penfield and demanded the keys to her car.

When she refused, deputies say Michael Friedler showed a gun, threatened the victim, broke her driver’s side window, ordered her out, and stole the car and a credit card belonging to the victim.

The car was recovered but not the credit card.

The Friedlers were arraigned in Penfield Court. Michael Friedler is being held without bail in the Monroe County Jail because of predicate felon status. Tammy Friedler is being held in the Monroe County Jail on $25,000 cash bail.

They have been charged with first-degree robbery and fourth-degree grand larceny.

Deputies say similar robberies took place at in Greece and at Marketplace Mall in Henrietta, and they are being investigated for any possible connections to those events.
