Rochester, N.Y. - The "Voice Your Choice” program from Rochester and NYSEG has ended, with customers now being able to select their supply service at any time, starting January 1.
Customers can choose to buy electricity from a utility or one of those energy service companies.
NYSEG and RG&E will no longer offer fixed-price electricity supply options.
NYSEG and RG&E are subsidiaries of Energy East Corporation, a regional energy company in the Northeast.
NYSEG serves 873,000 electricity customers and 259,000 natural gas customers across upstate New York.
RG&E serves 362,000 electricity customers and 299,000 natural gas customers in a nine-county region around Rochester.
